Panel discussion at IceBAN event

Stoked about Nordic Ignite presence at the recent IceBAN - Icelandic Business Angel Network event.

Rita Anson, Partner and Co-Founder of Nordic Ignite, representing also NorBAN - Norwegian Business Angel Network in a lively panel discussion with the 2024 European Angel Investor of the Year, Jesper Jarlbæk, Chairman of Danish Business Angels - DanBAN.

The panel covered among other topics the vital work being done by angel networks across the Nordic region and what cross-border collaborations mean for new and experienced investors alike.

Rita emphasized the impact magnified through partnerships across the North Atlantic, especially with the NABAN project (www.naban.no) and other initiatives led by Nordic Atlantic Cooperation (NORA).

Thanks to NORA’s support and the initiative taken from IceBAN founders Jon I. Bergsteinsson and Svava Björk Ólafsdóttir we’re seeing tangible outcomes in Iceland and beyond with its recent establishment in 2024.

The event was also a celebration of diversity, with a notably high rate of female participants. It was especially rewarding to see women making up such a strong presence in this angel investing course, adding valuable perspectives and expertise to the discussions. It's inspiring to witness and support a more inclusive network of investors!

This progress is empowering local ecosystems and attracting private investors to further support early-stage ventures. The event was an excellent opportunity to answer questions like What does it mean to be an angel investor? Through panels and personal stories, angel investors and entrepreneurs shared their insights on navigating early-stage investment, structuring deals, and recognizing potential in startups.

Well done IceBAN - Icelandic Business Angel Network!
