Investment rationale

We believe there to be a critical funding gap in early-stage capital in the Nordics and Baltics as government support is limited, business angels in short supply, and venture capital funds are only looking to provide capital to more established startups.

In our view this has created an opportunity for investments for experienced teams that can add value to early-stage startups, in addition to capital investment, by hands-on mentoring, advise and network connections. We intend take advantage of that opportunity and bridge the funding gap by providing capital to early-stage startups at the pre-seed level.

Our Investment Focus

  • Pre-seed stage

    Our focus is on the earliest funding stages where startups have usually identified a clear market opportunity, are typically considered pre-product and in the process of building out a basic functioning minimal viable product (MVP)

  • Strong founders

    We look to invest in startups with solid teams, clarity of purpose, that are addressing a large market poised for rapid growth or change as larger markets will allow for errors and time for real margins to develop

  • Nordics & Baltics

    We will only invest in startups domiciled in the Nordics and the Baltics, regions with excellent infrastructure, familiar regulatory framework, and growing startup ecosystems

  • Vertical agnostic

    We are open minded and not sector specific but prefer to invest in sectors where the Nordics have a competitive advantage, deep knowledge, and strong infrastructure

  • Purpose driven investments

    We prioritise sustainability in all our investment decisions, focusing on advancing the SDGs and following ESG principals, and aspire for gender equality when it comes to the founding teams in our portfolio
